Pune: 17-Year-Old College Student Brutally Murdered in Baramati, Suspects Captured

Pune, 19th April 2024: At Undawadi Supe (Baramati), a shocking and brutal murder took place today (18th April) when a college student, Vinod Praveen Bhosale, aged 17, was killed by four men from Karkhel. The attack occurred around 5:30 PM and involved the use of a Koyta and an Axe, reminiscent of scenes from a movie.

The four assailants, including three minors and one 18-year-old, were captured by local villagers and handed over to the police. The accused are Vaibhav Rajendra Bhapkar (age 18), Yash Vilas Mandhare (age 17), Sumit Abaso Bhapkar (age 17), and Suyash Bhanudas Bhapkar (age 17), all from Karkhel.

Vinod Praveen Bhosale was a Class XII student studying at Soniya Gandhi Polytechnic in Shrigonda. He was on his way home on an ST bus when he got off at Undawadi Supe and was immediately attacked by the four men sitting under the bridge of Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Road (National Highway – 965G). He tried to flee to a nearby field but was caught and fatally stabbed with a Koyta and an Axe.

Vinod died on the spot. The motive behind the murder is said to stem from a minor dispute during the Shiv Jayanti program in the village. Assistant Police Inspector Nagnath Patil of Supe Police Station responded quickly to the scene and detained the accused.
