Pune: 22 PMC Officials In ACB Net For Demanding Bribe In Last Five Years
Pune 13th July 2023: The Anti Corruption Bureau has nabbed a total of 22 officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for demanding and accepting bribe in the last 5.5 years. The ACB officials recently arrested an official from water supply department of the PMC for demanding bribe from a person.
According to official data, the number of officials working with civic body getting caught by ACB has increased in the last two years. A total of 6 PMC employees each were arrested by ACB in the last two years (2022 and 2021).
One PMC employee was arrested for corruption in 2020 while two were nabbed in 2019. Two such cases of corruption have been reported in the last six months this year. Similarly, five cases were reported in 2018.
