Pune: 23-Year-Old Engineer Dies After Jumping from 7th Floor of Atlas Copco Building in Hinjawadi

Hinjawadi, 28th July 2025: In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old man died by suicide after jumping from the 7th floor of Atlas Copco GECIA Company in Hinjawadi Phase 1.

The deceased has been identified as Piyush Kawade (age 23), a resident of Wakad and native of Nashik. According to Senior Police Inspector Balaji Pandhare, in charge of Hinjawadi Police Station, Kawade had been working as an engineer at the company for the past year. A suicide note was recovered at the scene, suggesting that it was indeed a case of suicide. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered at Hinjawadi Police Station.

Company sources revealed that Kawade was in a meeting when he suddenly suffered an emotional breakdown. He reportedly complained of chest pain and excused himself from the meeting. Moments later, he jumped from the 7th floor, resulting in his immediate death.

Hinjawadi Police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
