Pune: 25-Year-Old IT Professional Ends Life in Hinjawadi; Leaves Suicide Note

Hinjawadi, 4th June 2025: A woman working at a prestigious IT company in Pune has died by suicide in Hinjawadi. Shockingly, she jumped off a building where her friend lived. She did not meet her friend, who resides in The Crown Greens Housing Society, before taking the drastic step. She was reportedly depressed and had lost the will to live. Police found a suicide note, making it a clear case of suicide.
The deceased has been identified as Abhilasha Bhausaheb Kothimbire (age 25), a resident of Hinjawadi and a native of Ranjangaon. Police sources told Punekar News that Abhilasha worked at a reputed IT company on Pune’s Senapati Bapat Road (SB Road). She was friends with a girl of her age who lived in The Crown Greens Society in Phase 1 of Hinjawadi and used to visit her often.
On the morning of 31st May, Abhilasha arrived at the society on her two-wheeler but did not go to her friend’s home. Instead, she went straight to the 21st floor and jumped, resulting in her instant death. Police identified her through the vehicle she brought to the premises. A suicide note was found in her possession that stated, “I’m done living. I don’t want to live anymore.” She also apologized to her parents and friends for taking the drastic step.
Hinjawadi Police questioned her father, who reportedly said he had no idea about her mental state, as she appeared happy and gave no indication of being distressed. He told police there seemed to be no reason for such an act.
Senior Police Inspector Kanhaiya Thorat, in charge of the Hinjawadi Police Station, told Punekar News, “The young woman was found dead on May 31. During our investigation, we found a suicide note, which led us to believe it is a case of suicide. We have registered an Accidental Death (AD) case and are investigating the matter further.”
