Pune: 40 ICU Beds Added At Jumbo COVID Hospital Amid Slow Down In Positive Cases

Pune, October 4, 2020: The Pune district administration has added 40 ICU beds at the Jumbo Hospital located at the College of Engineering Pune ground (COEP), informed Rubal Agarwal, Additional Municipal Commissioner and Executive Head of the Jumbo facility.

Amid the positive cases dropping in Pune, as many as five COVID care centres have shut down in the city. However, the number of ICU beds have been outpaced by the dangers of the Coronavirus pandemic.”We have added 40 more ICU beds at Jumbo facility, with 20 BiPAP beds and 20 HFNO beds at the Ventilator room”, said Agarwal.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1286 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery from Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Pune city today. Also, 1055 new patients were detected while 38 people died today. Today swab samples of 4682 were collected for COVID tests.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 148,406 out of which 128,925 have been cured while 3609 have died. There are still 15,872 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 895 critical patients out of which 505 are on ventilator support.
