Pune: 47 Corona patients found in Bopodi in last 48 hours
Bopodi, June 6, 2020: In the last 48 hours, a total of 47 new Coronavirus positive patients have been detected in Bopodi. Till date, a total of 72 patients have been found in Bopodi area. Since the beginning of March, a large number of patients have been found in the Khadki cantonment area near Bopodi. A total of 41 corona positive patients have been registered with Khadki Cantonment Board from March to June 4 in Khadki area.
When no patient was found in Bopodi in April, the municipal corporation had declared the Bopodi area a green zone. However, since the first patient was found in Bopodi in early May, the detection of new patients has continued in several localities. However, in the last two days, 47 new patients have been found and so far a total of 72 positive patients have been registered in Bopodi. Due to the rapid increase in the number of patients in Bopodi, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is facing a big challenge in controlling further spread of the highly infectious disease.
In the last 24 hours, 275 new patients were detected in Pune city while three patients died. A total of 259 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured of COVID19 today. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 7722 out of which 4934 have been cured while 372 have died. There are still 2413 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 195 critical patients out of which 49 are on ventilator support. Till now 58,455 people have been tested in Pune city.
