Pune: Action Taken Against 97 Huts Illegally Built On PMRDA Plot
Wakad, 13th May 2023: Unauthorized huts were erected on the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) plot in Wakad for the past several days. PMRDA and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) today (May 13) removed as many as 97 huts by taking joint action after many demands to take action on it.
Illegal shacks have been built for the past several years on the plots of PMRDA in Groups No 210 and 208 in Kaverinagar, Wakad. Locals have repeatedly demanded the removal of these huts, but the demand has been ignored by the PMRDA.
Finally, today the Anti-Encroachment Department of PMRDA and the anti-unauthorized construction teams of PCMC jointly removed 97 crude huts on an area of 42,453 square feet. These encroachments were evicted with the help of JCB and manpower.
An appeal was made by the concerned department of PMRDA not to intrude on the site.
