Kondhwa, 22nd March 2025: Activist Prafful Sarda has once again played a key role in ensuring accountability, compelling authorities to take action against violations of petroleum company regulations. Due to his persistent efforts, officials imposed a ₹60,000 fine on the BPCL petrol pump at Lullanagar for failing to adhere to prescribed norms.

Sarda, known for his activism in civic and consumer rights, highlighted the need for strict enforcement of safety and operational guidelines set by petroleum companies. His intervention has been widely acknowledged as a crucial step toward ensuring compliance and transparency in the sector.

Expressing his views on the development, Sarda said, “Pleased to see that after constant follow-ups, BPCL authorities have finally taken action against the said petrol pump. Basic facilities at fuel stations are a fundamental right of consumers, yet many fuel stations fail to provide them. I hope this serves as a wake-up call for all fuel stations.”

He further urged petroleum companies to conduct weekly audits to enhance the customer experience and emphasized the need for all fuel stations to display large, visible boards informing customers about their rights.
