Pune: Afghan National Detained In Kondhwa For Visa Overstay
Kondhwa, 28th October 2023: Pune city police apprehended an Afghan national for alleged visa overstay after receiving a tip-off on October 27.
The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), led by PSI Vaibhav Sonawane, raided a flat in Sareen Miracle Society, Kausarbaugh, Kondhwa. Mohammad Farid Mangal was detained, and scrutiny of his passport revealed an expired student visa, with Mangal overstaying in Pune for one and a half years.
The accused was transferred to the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) at the Pune police commissioner’s office for thorough investigation before being handed over to Kondhwa police.
Police are further investigating the case.
