Pune: After Few Takers For Covishield’s Second Dose, PMC Changes Vaccination Policy

Pune, 19th May 2021: After a meagre 935 people got vaccinated today, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has changed its policy and on Thursday more people above 45 years of age will be eligible for the first dose.

According to Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Covishield will be available at 48 centres on Thursday and 100 doses will be available at each centre. 60% of the total stock of available vaccines will be given to the citizens above 45 years who have booked online appointment/slot first dose. Online appointment booking will start on Thursday at 8 am on Cowin.gov.in

Mohol further informed that 20% of the vaccine will be available to citizens above 45 years of age by registering the first dose offline (registration will be done at vaccination centres).

Also, 20% vaccine will be available for the second dose to the citizens who took the first dose 84 days ago (before 24th February). For the second dose, people can go to the centres without online registration.

Covaxin: Citizens who have taken the first dose of Covaxin before April 22 will be given the second dose on Thursday. 150 doses will be available at each of the 15 centres. The first dose of Covaxin will not be given.
