Pune Airport To Become Operational For 24 Hours Daily From December 1, Passenger Traffic To Reach 2019 Levels Within Next Few Months

Pune, 15th November 2021: From December 1 onwards the Pune Airport will be operational for 24 hours daily. Additionally, seven new flights are also expected to start in the next two months. With this, the passenger traffic is going to reach the same levels as it was in the pre-pandemic stages of the year 2019, senior airport officials said.

Pune airport director Santosh Dhoke said that the airport will become operational for 24 hours from December 1 onwards. This will make sure proper spacing of flights takes place. 

In Pune, the number of late-night flights has always been more as compared to the day-time flights. Now that the airport will be operational around the clock, there will be more new flights starting too. 

Currently, there is a lot of chaos and crowded situations have been witnessed at the Pune Airport, which has left the passengers hassled. On November 24, a meeting will be held by the Pune airport advisory committee to address these issues and find solutions to them. 

Advisory committee chairman and Pune Member of Parliament (MP), Girish Bapat said that the meeting will see detailed discussions with all stakeholders on various issues which includes crowding too.
