Pune: Alternative Routes and Parking Arranged for Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka Cricket Match Spectators
Pune, 30th October 2023: The highly-anticipated Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka cricket match is set to take place on Monday, the 30th, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association ground in Gahunje. With a significant number of cricket enthusiasts expected to attend this thrilling match, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have taken proactive measures to ensure smooth traffic management and convenience for spectators.
To alleviate potential traffic congestion, certain traffic restrictions and alternative routes have been put in place:
Vehicles travelling from the Old Mumbai Pune Highway are prohibited from entering Mamurdi Village via Shitladevi Mandir and the underpass near Mamurdi Zakat Naka on Bangalore Highway through Somatne Phata and Central Chowk. Instead, they are advised to take a left turn at Shitladevi Mandir and follow the service road via Lekha Farm towards the stadium and parking area.
For those coming from Nigdi and Hanging Bridge, the recommended route is to make a right turn at Krishna Chowk, proceed through Ravet Chowk, Bhondve Chowk, Mukai Chowk, and then return to the left side of the expressway to access the stadium and parking area via the service road.
It’s important to note that the road from the stadium to Old Mumbai Pune Highway via Sainathnagar will be designated for one-way traffic only, and access to the stadium via Sainathnagar is strictly prohibited.
Furthermore, all types of vehicles are not permitted to proceed to Kanetkar Bangla Chowk via Central Chowk – Sainagar. In such cases, vehicles travelling in the opposite direction will be temporarily stopped to ensure the safety of spectators as they make their way to the ground and return after the match.
These traffic measures have been implemented to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and ensure the safety of all those attending the Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka cricket match. Spectators are encouraged to plan their routes and follow the provided guidelines to minimize any inconveniences.
