Pune: Another Extortion Case Registered Against RTI Activist Sudhir Alhat And Accomplices

Kothrud, 11th May 2022: Within a month, one more case of extortion has been registered against RTI activist Sudhir Alhat and his accomplices by Pune City Police.

Based on the complaint by a builder from Hadapsar, the FIR has been registered at the Kothrud Police station for offences under sections 420, 406, 467, 468, 471, 384, 387, 386, 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The case has been registered against Sudhir Alhat, Archana Dinesh Samudra, Rohan Dinesh Samudra, Dinesh Vidyadhar Samudra and Ravi Vanage.

As per the FIR, the accused forged the Gunthewari document and submitted the same to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Based on this application, the accused threatened to organize the demolition of the construction made by the complainant and to settle this issue the complainant was asked to pay Rs 50 lakhs. The incident took place between 2021 and March 2022. Out of this, Rs 2.5 lakhs has been received by the accused through the UPI app.

Alhat has been booked earlier also in various similar cases by Pune Police. This includes a case of extortion from a Pune Police officer and others.
