Pune: Anti-Corruption Bureau Arrests Two People For Demanding Rs 3 Lakh Bribe For Police Inspector

Pune/Saswad, 18th March 2023: Two persons have been arrested by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs three lakh for a police inspector.

The accused have been identified as Akshay Subhash Marne and Ganesh Babanrao Jagtap, both of whom are said to be political leaders. Ganesh Jagtap is also allegedly a close relative of a prominent political figure from Saswad in Pune district.

According to reports, the complainant had filed a complaint at Saswad Police Station, and in order to register a case, Akshay Marne demanded a bribe of Rs three lakh on behalf of Police Inspector Gholap. Ganesh Jagtap reportedly assisted in the matter. The case has been registered, and both individuals have been detained.

The action was taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe, Additional SP Suraj Gurav, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Kranti Pawar. The team included Police Inspector Sandeep Varhade, API Mukund Ayachit, and constables Tavere and Pandunrag Mali.
