Pune: Approval For Conversion Of 0.287 Hectare Forest Land In Bhimashankar Development Plan

Bhimashankar, 2nd January 2022: The central government has approved the conversion of 0.287 hectares of forest land at Mauje Bhorgiri in Khed taluka and Mauje Nigdale in Ambegaon taluka of Pune district (Maharashtra) to widen the footpath in ‘Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar’ Development Plan, informed Executive Engineer of Public Works Department (North), RY Patil.

Under Reserve Forest Area, Group No. 130 at Bhorgiri (S No 201- Area 0.084 Hectares), Group No. 244 at Nigdale (S No 200 A- Area 0.168, 0.020, and 0.015 Hectares), a total of 0.287 hectares of forest land has been approved for conversion.

“While approving the transfer of forest land, approval is given subject to the following terms and conditions. The Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Pune should ensure compliance with all the conditions of the order approved in principle by the Central Government under the Project Mechanism Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980. Legal action will be taken against those who do not comply with the terms of the Act. No tree-cutting should be done. Temporary shelter centres should not be set up in forest areas for the accommodation of labourers. This approval order will remain valid for one year,” said Patil.
