MHADA Executive Engineer Dinesh Sridhar Shrestha (age 41) has lodged a complaint at Swargate Police Station in this regard. The 11 acre 36 guntha land in survey No. 697 in Maharshinagar was owned by Rashid Khudaram Irani, MHADA had taken possession of the land from Rashid as per rules. After that Rashid died in November 1970.
After Rashid’s death, his heirs Dara Irani, Dinesh Irani, Pardun Irani and Khodaram Irani had filed a FIR at District Collector’s office. In June 1983, the then District Collector had ordered MHADA to pay compensation to these heirs. Accordingly, MHADA had legally paid compensation to the heirs.
After the compensation, MHADA has started the development process in phases on the site and constructed buildings. Some space is vacant. On May 1, 2022, the MHADA administration had received information that Lalit Oswal had illegally dug a road in the open space of MHADA and had also erected a wire fence in the area. The MHADA administration then conducted an inspection.
It is learned that Rashid Irani’s decendents Sakharabhai, Mona, Farekh Ghadiyali, Vaishali Kamble and Ali Jafri conspired and took ownership of the land by forging documents. MHADA’s executive engineer has said in the complaint that these people have cheated the court and the state government by submitting fake documents in the civil court to get possession of the land using fake documents.
