Chakan, 24th December 2024: The Anti-Terrorism Cell of Pimpri-Chinchwad police has arrested a Bangladeshi husband and wife in the area. The couple, Tinku Chaudhary and Khadija Khatun had been working at a hotel in Alandi Phata in Chakan for the past eight days. They were found to be in possession of fake Aadhaar Cards and voter identity cards. Both have been handed over to the Chakan Police Station.
Pimpri-Chinchwad, known as an industrial city, has seen repeated revelations of illegal Bangladeshi residents in recent days. Tinku Chaudhary and Khadija Khatun were living as workers in a hotel in Alandi Phata, which falls under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate’s (PCPC) Chakan Police Station. They had arrived at the hotel only eight days ago. Before this, police reports suggest they had been living in Hyderabad for one to two years.
The couple was found to possess voter IDs and Aadhaar cards, but police investigations revealed these documents to be fake. The Anti-Terrorism Cell had received a tip-off about the couple’s presence at the hotel. Upon confirming this information, the police questioned the pair and discovered they were Bangladeshi nationals. Since they were residing illegally in India, a case has been filed against them at Chakan Police Station.
