Pune: Bangladeshi Infiltrators Used Two-Wheelers For Border Crossing, Arrested In Pimpri Chinchwad

Reported By Varad Bhatkhande
Pimpri Chinchwad, 24th January 2025: It’s no secret that Bangladeshi infiltrators, who are not uncommon, come to India with the help of agents. However, a recent shocking case in Pimpri Chinchwad revealed two Bangladeshi citizens entering India on two-wheelers. After arriving in India, they easily obtained fake Aadhaar Cards, PAN Cards, and Passports, more easily than genuine Indians do.
The arrested Bangladeshis, Shohag Sukumar Muzumdar (age 20) and Suman Gopal Tikadar (age 35) were detained through the combined efforts of the Anti-Terrorist Branch and Pimpri Police Station, both under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.
Muzumdar worked at Chinchwad MIDC as a labourer. He obtained an Aadhaar Card in February 2024 with an address in West Bengal. Tikadar was working as a labourer in Panipat, Haryana.
Muzumdar came to India five years ago with his parents. An agent brought him to India on two bikes, as if dropping someone within a city, but they were crossing countries. After working for a year in Bengal, he came to Pune. Muzumdar was detained after working for four years in the Pimpri Chinchwad and Hinjawadi areas of Pune District. Police received information about his Bangladeshi citizenship and detained him.
After detaining Muzumdar, he provided information about Tikadar, his friend. Tikadar also came on a bike with his parents. He arrived in December 2024 in search of a job.
Senior Police Inspector Vikas Raut, in charge of the Anti-Terrorism Branch, stated, “Two Bangladeshis were illegally residing in India. Both the accused have been arrested. They will be sent to their country by court order.”
