New Delhi/Pune, 6th May 2024: With Phase-3 of the Lok Sabha polls scheduled for tomorrow, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a smooth and efficient voting process. Covering a spread of 93 Lok Sabha seats across 11 States/UTs, this phase anticipates the participation of approximately 17.24 crore voters across 1.85 lakh polling stations.

The ECI has meticulously coordinated arrangements at all polling stations, including facilities such as water, shade, and fans to mitigate the impact of hot weather conditions. Despite normal weather predictions, the Commission remains steadfast in its commitment to facilitating a hassle-free voting experience for citizens.

Encouraging maximum voter turnout, the ECI has collaborated with major Telecom Service Providers to disseminate messages and voice calls featuring national and state icons, aimed at motivating voters. Additionally, the Commission has called upon organizations, startups, and influencers to actively participate in outreach programs, amplifying voter engagement initiatives.

Transparency remains a cornerstone of the ECI’s operations, with disclosures and accountability upheld at every stage. As part of statutory requirements, voter turnout is meticulously recorded at each polling station in Form 17C, ensuring full transparency in the electoral process.

To provide real-time insights, State/PC/AC-wise tentative turnout figures are available through the ECI Voter Turnout app. This initiative enhances transparency and enables stakeholders to access vital information throughout the polling period.

Amid preparations, it’s essential to note that Phase-3 polling encompasses 93 Constituencies, with notable exceptions including the rescheduled polling for Anantnag-Rajouri PC and the absence of polling in Surat PC due to an uncontested election. Betul PC, however, will witness polling in this phase following rescheduling.

With polling parties dispatched to their respective stations, unique challenges are being addressed, such as the deployment of Sashastra Seema Bal troops in Assam to facilitate riverine polling access in South Salmara Mankachar PC.

Phase-3 Facts:
– Polling on May 7, 2024, for 93 Parliamentary Constituencies across 11 States/UTs.
– Over 17.24 crore voters expected, including 8.85 crore Male and 8.39 crore Female.
– Rigorous surveillance measures in place, including Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Teams, and Video Surveillance Teams.
