Kalyani Nagar, 6th May 2024: Despite a stern warning from Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, the proprietors of Elrow Pub in Kalyani Nagar persisted in operating beyond the permitted hours. Responding to complaints, the Social Security Cell of Pune Police’s Crime Branch conducted a raid, resulting in the filing of an FIR against the owners.

Sandeep Harshvardhan Sahastrabudhe, Rashmi Sandesh Kumar, proprietors of Elrow Pub in Kalyaninagar, and Sanjay Mahadev Gurum, now face legal consequences for violating late-night operation regulations. During a routine night patrol led by Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav, the team observed the establishment playing loud music beyond permissible hours, prompting immediate action on Sunday around 1 am. Sound systems worth Rs four lakh were seized.

Based on a complaint from the police, an FIR has been registered at Yerwada police station against the three accused. They have been booked for offences under sections 188, 291 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.

This incident follows a previous violation on April 8, when Sandeep and Rashmi were charged with operating the establishment beyond 1:30 am and serving illicit hookah. Records indicate that this marks the third FIR filed against the accused for similar offences.
