Pune-Based Kinetic Green Plans To Invest Rs 300 Crores In Electric Vehicles

Pune, 29th September 2021: Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Limited, India’s leading manufacturer of electric vehicles, today welcomed the Minister of Tourism and Environment for the Government of Maharashtra Aditya Thackeray. The minister, who is a champion of green initiatives and the driving force behind the new Maharashtra EV Policy, visited the company to assess the potential and guide for further growth in the sector.

Maharashtra is a leading automobile manufacturing hub in India. On backdrop of new electric vehicle policy for Maharashtra, which is being developed under Aditya Thackeray’s vision and leadership, the State is keen to become leading state for electric vehicle manufacturing and deployment. Policy envisages sops for manufacturing of electric vehicles and components, charging ecosystem creation and incentives to electric vehicle buyers. Under the policy, state government departments will also be mandated to procure electric vehicle for their requirements.

Aditya Thackeray said, “While appreciating the good efforts made by Kinetic Green , he further guided that aggressive implementation of the EV policy is critical. GoM is planning series of stakeholder consultations to ensure that any issues on the ground are addressed rapidly for smooth implementation. He also reiterated commitment of the state government to implement EV purchase schemes by State government for various applications such as bus and car purchases and also electric vehicles for waste management as well as for tourism.”

Speaking on the occasion Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO, Kinetic Green said, “Kinetic Green plans to invest Rs 300 crores in electric three-wheeler and electric two-wheeler as well as golf cars model development and capacity expansion in Maharashtra, at our EV manufacturing facilities in Ahmednagar and Pune districts over the next few years.”
