Pune 19th Oct 2023: In a significant turn of events, the Mumbai High Court has provided a major relief to Rohit Pawar, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The court has canceled the order issued by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) regarding the Baramati Agro Company. As part of this ruling, Rohit Pawar has been given a period of fifteen days to submit his written statement in response to the MPCB’s actions.

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board had previously issued notices to Rohit Pawar concerning two plants owned by his Baramati Agro Company. Alleging violations of regulations, the board had instructed the shutdown of both units. Subsequently, Rohit Pawar approached the High Court, challenging these notices. Following hearings, the court has now provided relief to Pawar, lifting the notices issued by the Pollution Control Board.

In the initial stages, the court had instructed the MPCB to not take any action on the matter for three days, allowing both parties involved to present their arguments. Subsequently, after considering the case for fifteen days, the court decided in favor of Rohit Pawar, cancelling the orders issued by the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB).
