Pune, 18th January 2022: Congress state president Nana Patole made a controversial statement about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The repercussions of this statement are being felt across the state of Maharashtra and the BJP has become very aggressive.

BJP corporator Dheeraj Ghate has put up a notice board with a text, “Nana, tell us when you are coming to Pune. We look forward to welcoming you.”

“I have been in politics for the last 30 years. In five years a politician can provide for an entire generation. By building schools and colleges they can provide for two generations. I don’t own even one school and nor I have I taken any contract from anyone. I help whoever comes to me for help. That’s why I can hit Modi and abuse him,” Patole was heard saying in a video clip from Bhandara.

BJP is protesting against this statement of Nana Patole.

Ghate demanded the state government take immediate action against Patole.

Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari have also expressed anger over Patole’s statement.

BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Fadnavis tweeted about Patole’s statement, “In Punjab, the convoy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vehicle was stuck for 20 minutes near the Pakistan border, but the Congress chief minister from Punjab does not even took simple notice. Now the Congress president of Maharashtra says, I can kill Modi, I can swear. What about the Congress party? This party, which was once in the freedom movement, went into such turmoil”.

Fadnavis has questioned whether Congress is now a political party in a democracy or an organization that spreads terror.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also tweeted expressing displeasure over Patole’s statement. Gadkari has demanded the arrest of Patole. “The language used by Maharashtra Congress state president Patole about Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very offensive and objectionable. I request the police administration to file a case against Patole and arrest him,” demanded Gadkari.
