Pune: BJP MLAs Ashwini Jagtap And Uma Khapre Travel By ST

Pune, 20th March 2023: Pimpri-Chinchwad BJP MLAs Ashwini Laxman Jagtap and Uma Khapre travelled by ST for a session today. On this occasion, both the women MLAs thanked the state government on behalf of common women. The state government has given a 50% concession on ST ticket fares to women. After this, it has also come to light that the number of women in ST travel has increased.

Chinchwad Legislative Assembly MLA of BJP Ashwini Laxman Jagtap and Legislative Council MLA Uma Khapre travelled to Lonavala by ST. Both women MLAs arrived at Vallabh Nagar bus station in Pimpri around 9:30 in the morning. On this occasion, women workers of the BJP were also with the MLAs. They included former mayor Usha Dhore, former chairperson of the standing committee Mamta Gaikwad, former corporator Sharda Sonwane, Nirmala Kute, Savita Khule, Vaishali Khabikar, Madhavi Rajapure, city president of BJP Mahila Aghadi Ujjwala Gawde, former city president Shaila Molak, Dipali Dhanorkar, Supriya Chandgude, and others.

Ashwini Jagtap brought up old memories while talking about ST. “ST was important in school and college life. If going on a trip, there was no option without ST. We used to eagerly wait for ST. This gift given by the state government to women on the occasion of Women’s Day is appreciated,” Jagtap said. Uma Khapare has appealed that women and young girls from every corner of Maharashtra should travel by ST.

Speaking about ST travel, MLA Ashwini Jagtap said that the government has taken many decisions for the benefit of women in the budget. It also includes the decision to give a 50 per cent discount on ticket fares to women travelling by ST. The implementation of this decision has started. It has given great relief to the women of the state to travel. The implementation of concessions given to women by travelling to ST was analysed by BJP’s women’s office bearers. Similarly, the difficulties faced by women passengers were learned.

MLA Uma Khapre said the government took a historic decision to give a 50 per cent discount on ST buses to women. “Today, we travelled from Pimpri to Lonavala along with women office bearers on our way to the convention and tried to know the problems of women passengers,” she said.
