Pune: Boat Capsizes at Ujani Dam, 5 Missing
Indapur, 22nd May 2024: A boat capsize incident occurred at Ujani Dam in Indapur Tehsil, Pune, on the evening of Tuesday (May 21). The boat, which was transporting passengers from Bhugaon to Kalashi, capsized around 6 pm, leaving six people missing. One person managed to escape and survive the ordeal.
A team of five personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Pune has been deployed to the site and has been conducting water search operations since the morning. Assistant Commandant Pravin Dhat reported that the capsized boat has been anchored, and efforts are underway to retrieve it from the water.
The search and rescue operations are ongoing, with hopes of locating the missing individuals.
