Pune: Budget Of PCMC To Be Announced On 14th March
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 10th March 2023: The budget of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for the financial year 2023-24 will be presented on Tuesday (14th March). At present, there is an administrator in the municipality. So this is going to be the first budget of the administrators. This is the 41st budget of the Municipal Corporation and also the first budget of Commissioner Shekhar Singh. Everyone is paying attention to what the city dwellers will get from this budget prepared in the absence of public representatives.
A special meeting has been organized on 14th March for the budget. Commissioner Shekhar Singh will present the budget in this meeting. Meanwhile, in the wake of the elections last year, the Municipal Corporation had submitted a budget of Rs 4,961 crores 65 lakhs, and a budget of Rs 6,497 crores two lakhs along with sponsored schemes of Central Government and State Government. There is curiosity about whether it will increase or decrease this year and what new things the city residents will get before the municipal elections.
The previous year’s budget had the imprint of the then-ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). However, now the term of the corporators has expired. Since there is no representative of the people, the entire impression of the administrators will be on the budget. The city dwellers are curious about what they will get from it.
The outbreak of Covid-19 for two consecutive years also affected the municipal budget. Hence, no major project was announced in the city for two consecutive years.
Although the income has increased this year, there will be a challenge to complete the old projects in the city. Therefore, doubts are being raised about whether the city will get big projects from the budget this year as well.
