Pune: Builder Shot Dead Outside SBI Treasury Branch Near Collector Office
Pune, October 5, 2020: In a broad daylight firing, 45-year-old builder was shot dead by gunmen near the State Bank of India (SBI) treasury branch located near the District Collector office and Pune police commissioner office.
According to police, the incident took place around 3 pm. Two men riding a bike reached the spot where Rajesh Haridas Kanabar, a resident of Ghorpadi, was standing on the footpath. One of them fired at Kanabar and fled. Kanabar was rushed to a nearby hospital, however, he succumbed to the injuries.
After getting the information, senior police officials including Add CP Sanjay Shinde, Ashok Morale and DCP Swapna Gore reached the spot. Police officials suspect that the incident could be a fallout of some land dispute. “There was hearing in the land case today”, officials said.
Teams from Crime Branch have also begun the investigation. The cops are scanning CCTV footages of the area to identify the shooters.
