Pune: Burglary at a wine shop, thieves steal liquor, beer worth Rs 76,000

Pune, April 10, 2020: Due to lockdown all non-essential shops including wine shops are closed. It seems people are so restless that they now they have targeted wine shop.

Unidentified thieves broke into a wine shop in Khadki and have decamped with wine worth Rs 76,000. An FIR has been registered in this regard with Khadki police station, Pune city police.

According to police, the incident took place at the wine shop owned by Abhijit Hule (42). The thieves have decamped with 18 boxes of country liquor and 20 boxes of beer, totally worth Rs 76,000. It seems they took away only these boxes as they could not carry more as the shop had stock worth Rs three lakhs. Police officials said that they are yet to identify the thieves but the possibility of some local people targeting it cannot be ruled out.

The number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 245 in Pune district while it has reached 1574 across Maharashtra. There have been 896 new cases in the last 24 hours across the country. There have also been 37 deaths. The total number of coronavirus positive cases in India has risen to 6761 with 6039 active cases and 516 discharged from hospital. 206 people have died till now. There has been no community transmission of COVID-19 in the country so far, but we have to be cautious.
