Pune, 10th November 2025: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the purchase of Mahar Watan land in Mundhwa by Amadea Enterprises LLP, a company linked to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar, a separate case has come to light involving alleged embezzlement of Agricultural Department land in Bopodi.

The Khadak Police had recently registered a case against eight people, including a Tehsildar, in connection with the Bopodi land transaction.

One of the accused in the case, businessman Hemant Gawande, addressed a press conference at the Pune Patrakar Bhavan on Monday, claiming that the case filed against him is “illegal, baseless, and politically motivated.” He announced that he intends to move court to challenge the FIR.

“The case registered against me on November 7 is based entirely on misunderstanding and false information. All allegations in it are unfounded and lack any legal basis,” Gawande said while addressing the media.

He clarified that the disputed Bopodi land—CTS No. 3 and 4, Final Plot No. 14, Survey No. 62—is his legal property, which he has neither sold nor agreed to sell to anyone. “The land is reserved for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML) and no third party has any right over it. Therefore, the charge of cheating the government is completely incorrect,” he stated.

Gawande further said that the ownership history of the land is clearly documented since 1775, with all related documents, including Inam Sanad, Alienation Record, Revenue Adjustment Records, Title and Tenure Certificates, and Town Planning Department clearances, remaining valid and undisputed.

He also pointed out that a civil case regarding this land, filed by the Agriculture College, Pune, is already pending before the Bombay High Court, and hence, the registration of a criminal case on the same issue is “legally improper.”

Refuting any political or business connections, Gawande categorically stated, “I have never met Parth Pawar, Digvijay Singh, or Sheetal Tejwani. I have no association whatsoever with them or their company.”

He reiterated that he would pursue legal remedies against the case filed on the complaint of the Naib Tehsildar, calling it a “misguided action based on incorrect assumptions.”
