Patil said, “According to the law, Child-Friendly Cells and Women and Children Squad Cells will be introduced in all police stations. This cell has been set up so that in case of injustice and abuse of children and women after they come to the police station, they should not feel afraid of the police; they should feel trust in that place and not be oppressed.”

He further said, “This room has been set up to make the abused children who come to Child-Friendly rooms, the children who are in legal conflict become vocal, sit, enjoy and play until the crime is registered. Funds will be given from the District Planning Committee along with the Social Responsibility Fund for setting up these rooms.”

“If the accused does not get bail early after committing the crime, the cases are filed and tried in the court on the speedy level and if the standard of proof increases and the punishment increases, the fear of the law will be created in the minds of the accused. In this regard, the government is making an effort,” Patil added further.

At this time, Patil distributed toys and treats to the children and also distributed chocolates to the students of Seth Dagduram Vidyalaya in Gultekdi. On this occasion, Shakeel Sheikh, manager of Hope for the Children Foundation, was felicitated for his contribution to building the said room.

According to the law, every police station is required to appoint a Child Welfare Police Officer. These child welfare police officers will interact with the victimized children and children involved in legal conflicts; they will be counselled so that those who have recorded the statements of the children do not get pressured.

An effort will be made here to create a playful atmosphere in the room so that the abused child can give the information about the abuse done to them with confidence and openness.

Encouraging children to make positive changes in their lives, to create positive thoughts in the mind of children so that they do not misbehave. Along with informing the child about the incident, counselling and providing psychological support or medical treatment will be done at this place.
