Pune: Chinchwad Police Bust IPL Ticket Black Market, Arrest Two Individuals

Chinchwad, 11th April 2024: Chinchwad police apprehended two individuals engaging in the illicit sale of IPL tickets at inflated prices. The incident unfolded on Wednesday (10th April) at Chaphekar Chowk in Chinchwad.

Chetan Namdev Patil (25 years old, from Dighi) and Sachin Vinod Kumbhar (21 years old, from Nigdi) were taken into custody by Chinchwad authorities. Akash Vijay Salvi (25 years old, from Dighi) complained to the Chinchwad Police Station.

Authorities state that the suspects had amassed a supply of IPL match tickets and were peddling them on the black market well above their face value. Their attempt to deceive the complainant into purchasing tickets for Rs. 92,200 beyond their actual worth was promptly thwarted when the matter was brought to the attention of law enforcement, leading to the swift apprehension of the offenders.
