Pune city: 1224 new COVID cases, 11,68 discharged today

Pune, Aug 18, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1168 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery from Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Pune city today. Also, 1224 new patients were detected while 21 people died today. Today swab samples of 5947 people were collected for COVID tests.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 76,157 out of which 59,874 have been cured while 1814 have died. There are still 14,469 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 760 critical patients out of which 463 are on ventilator support.

Across Maharashtra, 9,356 people got discharged from hospitals while 11,119 new cases and 422 deaths were reported today. The total number of COVID cases has reached 6,15,477 out of which 4,37,870 people have recovered and 20,687 have died. There are 1,56,608 active cases.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 27,02,742 across the country. Out of this, 19,77,779 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 51,797 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 6,73,166 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
