Pune City Police earn last-four berth with easy win over Pune Magician
Pune, 15th December, 2025: Krida Prabodhini and Pune city Police proved a tough nut to crack as they scored at will against Hockey United and Pune Magician to romp into the semifinals of the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hockey Tournament, at the Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, here on Monday.
The knock-out tournament is being conducted under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra and is part of the 134th birth anniversary celebrations of the famed leader.
In the first match of the day, Krida Prabodhini rode on a three-goal, including a hat-trick, feat by Santosh Bhosale (16’, 20’, 23’) to get past Hockey United 8-1. The winners led 2-1 at the half-way stage.
Earlier, the opening goal of the match was scored by Arjun Gupta (14’) off a field goal.
After Santosh Bhosale held center-stage, Krida Prabodhini had Karthik Pathare (35’), Harshavardhan Khune (41’), Ankit Gurav (44’), Sachin Rajgade (57’) and Soham Kashid (58’) score and complete the tally.
Later, in the second match, Pune City Police also made the last four with an easy 4-0 win over Pune Magician, with Jagdish Kasture netting a brace of goals.
During the match, a brace of goals by Jagdish Kasture (33’), off a field goal and later a penalty-corner conversion in the (44’) towards the end of the game increased the tally of the game. The other scorers included a field goal each by Roshan Musale (9’) and a penalty corner conversion by Yash Karale (18’) was enough to get past Pune Magician. The winners took a 2-0 lead at the halfway stage.
