Pimpri-Chinchwad, 22nd September 2022: Roads in the Pimpri Chinchwad city have been blocked due to rain. The municipal administration is claiming that potholes in the city have been filled. However, one has to travel through potholes in city suburbs and main roads. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is scheduled to tour Pimpri Chinchwad city tomorrow (September 23). Therefore, work has started to repair the potholes on major roads in Chinchwad.

Pimpri-Chinchwad city has received more rain than last year. Due to the rains, the condition of the roads in the city has become miserable. It has been seen that the newly constructed asphalt roads have washed away. Although the municipal administration is claiming that the potholes have been filled, the reality is different.

A program has been held in Ramakrishna More auditorium for the arrival of CM. Therefore, work is carried out to fill the potholes on the roads from Chinchwad station to theatres, Chinchwad village and Pune. In some places, asphalt is laid and cement blocks are put to cover the gravel.

The administration is spending lakhs of rupees on repairing potholes. This is the result of the corruption of the contractors, officials, consultants and quality control agencies who build the potholed roads that have threatened the lives of the city dwellers. Therefore, citizens are demanding to conduct a strict investigation regarding the construction work of these roads and strict action against the perpetrators.
