Pune Covid-19: Know How PMC Plans To Tackle Corona Situation

Pune, 22nd December 2022: Covid-19 has raised its head once again in the world. Corona has wreaked havoc in China, and there is a situation similar to the first wave. Considering the recent Corona situation in India, special care is being taken this time.

In this background, the additional commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Ravindra Binwade, has stated that thermal screening will be started at Pune Airport for passengers coming from outside of India.

Considering the increasing prevalence of Coronavirus in China, various measures have been started through the Municipal Corporation. “Citizens should not panic. Preparations have been made on behalf of the Municipal Corporation”, said Binawade.

Given the increasing incidence of Coronavirus in China, a team will be stationed at Pune Airport, where isolation will be provided if required. At present, there are 44 active patients in Pune city, and the condition of all patients is good. Although there is no cause for concern in Pune, precautions should be taken by the citizens.

“Citizens should avoid crowded places if they have a cold, cough, or fever. Also, Pune city is leading the vaccination drive and, according to the reports, 99 percent of vaccination has been completed in the city with both doses. We also have a lot of stock for booster doses.” Binawade appealed to citizens to take the booster dose as early as possible.

“After studying the three waves of Covid-19, identifying whether it is Bhawani Peth or any other hotspot, the Health Department will also take care, and a special campaign will also be implemented,” Binawade added further.

Total covid tests: 4,81,151

Total positives cases: 6,91,356

Current active cases: 44

Total deaths: 9,410

Measures To Take:

-A meeting was held with the ward and district medical officers, and instructions were given to be vigilant.

-Re-commissioning of the old RTPCR centre is being planned.

-Instructions were given to find ILIs and patients by doing house to house surveys and getting them RT PCR tested.

-Instructions for sending each positive RT PCR patient’s sample to NIV for genome sequencing were given.

-Instructions were given for contact tracing of each positive patient.

-The stock of medicines in every dispensary should be kept up to date.

-At present 14OGP is ready with a total capacity of 10833 LPM and 9 LMO capacity of 110 KL.

-Old COVID hospital and the new hospital in the Baner area are ready. Also, Naidu hospital is ready with 575 total beds. Also, Dalvi, Bopodi, and Laygude hospitals can be ready in two days with a total of 200 beds.
