Pune: Covid Vaccination For 15-18 Age Group Now Begins In Schools Itself

Pune, 18th January 2022: On Sinhagad Road at Vitthalwadi, T.G. Gosavi Secondary and Higher Secondary School have started Covid vaccination for children in the age group of 15 to 18 years.

Corporator Manjusha Nagpure had demanded Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) administration for making the vaccine available in the schools considering the crowd for vaccination at certain centres.

Covid19 vaccination has been introduced across the country for children between the ages of 15 and 18 from 3rd January 2022. Children of this age group are being vaccinated at several centres in Pune city. Taking note of the demands and efforts made by the corporator, the health department of PMC started a vaccination campaign at T.G. Gosavi Secondary School in Vitthalwadi. This project is being implemented after the efforts of Corporator Manjusha Nagpure of Wadgaon Budruk, Hingane Khurd (Ward No. 34).

Corporator Nagpure said that this is the first initiative in the city to vaccinate school children in their own schools. “The vaccination campaign at Gosavi Vidyalaya has received a very good response. Attempts are being made to implement such vaccination campaigns in all the schools in different phases” she added.
