Pune: Deadline For RTE Admissions Now Extended Till 15th May
Pune, 8th May 2023: Another extension has been given for the admission of children whose admission has been announced in the selection list under the Right to Education Act (RTE) in the admission process for 25 per cent of reserved seats in private schools. Now parents can confirm admission till 15th May. Meanwhile, nearly 49,300 parents have confirmed the admission.
The Directorate of Primary Education is conducting the RTE admission process in the state for the academic year 2023-24. This year, 1,01,846 admission seats were available in 8,823 schools under this admission process. Parents of 3,64,413 children applied for these seats.
After the draw for admission, the selection list of 94,700 students was announced. Since admission confirmation started on 13th April, there has been a not-so-good response from parents in the process. So, it was decided to extend the deadline for the second time.
According to the circular issued by the Director of Primary Education Sharad Gosavi, the final deadline is being extended till 15th May to verify the documents of the children selected through online lottery under the RTE admission process. Admission complaints and appeal applications should be heard and disposed of by 15th May. After that, the process of admission of children to the waiting list will be started.
