Pune: Death Toll at 8 in Kundeshwar Pickup Van Accident, 29 Injured

Chakan, 11 August 2025: Eight women lost their lives and 29 others were injured after a pickup jeep carrying devotees to Srikshetra Kundeshwar for Mahadev darshan fell into a ravine on Monday afternoon.

According to DCP Shivaji Pawar of Pimpri Chinchwad police, the accident occurred between 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm when the vehicle, carrying 41 women and children from nearby villages, reportedly overturned before plunging into the gorge. The group was on its way to visit the Kundeshwar temple when the tragedy struck.
