Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Conducts Surprise Hinjawadi Visit; Pulls Up Sarpanch Over Delays At IT Park
Hinjawadi, 26th July 2025: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar conducted a surprise inspection of Hinjawadi IT Park on Saturday (26th July) morning, marking his second visit in two weeks. The visit was aimed at reviewing the progress made on directives he had issued earlier to address issues of traffic congestion and waterlogging in the area.
Pawar began his inspection around 6:00 am, starting from the busy Croma Chowk area, personally walking through key trouble spots that had drawn criticism from IT professionals and residents alike. The monsoon season had worsened the situation in the tech hub, with several areas turning into waterlogged zones, prompting both public outcry and political scrutiny.
During the visit, Pawar confronted local authorities and did not mince words when addressing delays. Pawar reprimanded Ganesh Jambhulkar, the Sarpanch of Hinjawadi village, over his opposition to the demolition of a temple obstructing infrastructural work.
“When it comes to development and infrastructure upgrade, temples are often displaced. I will do what it needs to be down to solve the problems faced by residents and IT professionals,” said Pawar firmly. “Everything is falling apart. Pune is on the verge of losing the entire Hinjawadi IT Park. No one seems to care, but I do. That’s why I’m here at six in the morning.”
Following Pawar’s visit, officials have been directed to fast-track pending work and ensure all obstacles—administrative or otherwise—to be swiftly addressed.
