Pune District: 12,090 New COVID Cases, 70 Deaths Reported Today
Pune, 08 April 2021: A total of 12,090 fresh Coronavirus disease (COVID19) positive cases were reported today in the Pune district. Also, 6948 patients got discharged from hospitals while 70 people died today.
Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that to date the total number of COVID cases has reached 6,16,127. Out of this, 5,16,226 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals, while 10,472 people have died. There are about 89,598 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals and in-home isolation. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 31,53,950 people have been tested in the district.
The 6,16,127 patients include 3,12,382 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area; 1,61,119 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC); 9881 from Cantonment areas; 1,02,864 are from Rural areas, and 29,991 from municipal council (Nagar Parishad) areas in the district.
