Pune District: 12,494 New COVID Cases, 64 Deaths Today, Highest Spike of Covid-19 Cases In a Single Day Recorded

Pune, 4 April 2021: Today Pune district has reported one of the highest number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in a single day. A total of 12,494 fresh Coronavirus disease (COVID19) positive cases were reported today in the Pune district. Also, 6467 patients got discharged from hospitals while 64 people died today.

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that to date the total number of COVID cases has reached 5,74,829. Out of this, 4,86,677 patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals, while 10,227 people have died. There are about 78,094 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals and in-home isolation. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 30,10,658 people have been tested in the district.

The 5,74,829 patients include 2,90,044 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area; 1,50,928 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC); 9399 from Cantonment areas; 96,412 are from Rural areas, and 28,046 from municipal council (Nagar Parishad) areas in the district.
