Pune District Administration Ready for Vote Counting on December 21: Collector Jitendra Dudi
Pune, 20th December 2025: The Pune district administration has completed all arrangements for the counting of votes for municipal elections held across the district, District Collector and District Election Officer Jitendra Dudi said on Saturday.
As per the State Election Commission’s directives, polling for 14 municipal councils and three nagar panchayats in Pune district was conducted on December 2 and December 20, 2025. Vote counting will begin at 10 a.m. on December 21.
To ensure a smooth, transparent, and orderly counting process, the administration has deployed 914 officers and staff, including reserve personnel. Adequate police deployment has been made at all counting centres, and preventive orders have been issued to maintain law and order.
Each Returning Officer has appointed and trained counting staff at their respective centres. All venues have been fully equipped with the required infrastructure and materials. Entry passes have been issued to authorised election personnel, candidates and their agents, as well as accredited media representatives. Dedicated media facilitation centres have been set up to provide round-wise result updates.
Collector Dudi said a comprehensive review of the counting process has been conducted. Returning Officers have been instructed to ensure that counting is carried out in a transparent, accurate and disciplined manner, and all security arrangements have been thoroughly reviewed.
