Pune District Collector Holds Meeting Of Covid Task Force, Orders Readiness Of Health System

Pune, 28th December 2022: Given the increasing number of Covid-19 patients abroad, the Pune District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh directed authorities to prepare the health system of Pune to prevent this epidemic and successfully deal with any situation that may arise from it.

 

Regarding Covid-19, the District Level Covid Task Force Committee under the Chairmanship of the Collector of Pune was held through video conference. Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal, District Civil Surgeon Dr Nagnath Yampalle, District Health Officer Dr Bhagwan Pawar, and others was present.

The number of coronavirus patients is increasing in countries like China, America, Brazil, Indonesia, and others. This meeting was organized to speed up preventive measures and review the preparedness of the systems as a precaution in the state and Pune district.

 

Collector Dr Deshmukh said, “Administrative and health systems in the district should be prepared as per the instructions of the central government. If defects are found in the demonstration of necessary materials such as the oxygen project, liquid oxygen storage tank, medical oxygen pipeline, and others, they should be rectified immediately. Systems should be prepared to deal with the possible situation of Covid-19 in a planned manner.”

Collector Dr Deshmukh also directed to increase the number of vaccination booths to vaccinate as many eligible citizens as possible.

 

Dr Pawar informed on this occasion, “Currently, there are 50 patients of Covid-19 in the Pune district, and an average of 11 patients are recovering daily. Vaccination is being accelerated.”

He also said that all the primary health centres and sub-centre levels in the district have been provided with Covid vaccination for all the beneficiaries.

 

Under the measures, 114 PSA oxygen plants and 109 liquid oxygen storage tanks are available in the district, with a total capacity of 1,210 metric tons. So far, 1,196 ventilators and 1,097 oxygen concentrators are available in the district. A total of 5,401 isolation beds, 5,964 oxygen beds, and 1,293 ICU beds are available.

In the demonstration conducted as per the instructions of the central government, all the hospitals, dedicated covid health centres, and private hospitals were reviewed in terms of manpower, machinery, medicines, ambulance, referral service, and teleconsultation.
