Pune District To Be Poverty Free By 2030: ZP CEO
Pune, 17th October 2022: Pune Zilha Parishad reaffirms its commitment to eradicating poverty in the district. Over the last 60 years, Pune Zilha Parishad has worked on alleviating poverty through the implementation of various schemes, programs and development of infrastructure to increase labour productivity in the district’s economy.
From building roads and water conservation structures to providing farmers with essential inputs such as pipes and pumps- Pune Zilha Parishad has contributed to the mission of poverty free district. The ZP has built institutions such as our vibrant self-help group movement to encourage household savings and investments into productive assets. “Schools have provided education to lakhs of children every year, in the remotest corners of the district thereby leading to near-universal literacy. Healthcare Centers have helped eradicate diseases and saved thousands of lives,” Ayush Prasad, CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad, said.
Poverty is in deprivation of essentials – Pune Zilha Parishad has helped in overcoming it through the direct benefits transfer program.
“We shall continue to work hard to realise the sustainable development goal of a poverty-free district before 2030,” Prasad stated.
