Pune Doctor Booked For Sexually Assaulting And Administering Abortifacient Pills To Young Woman

Pune, 24th February 2023: A doctor has been accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a young woman under the pretense of being in a romantic relationship with her. The accused has also been charged with giving her abortifacient pills.

The case was registered at Bharti Vidyapeeth police station, and the incidents took place between September 2020 and present in Ambegaon and Mahabaleshwar.

The 26-year-old victim lodged a complaint against the accused doctor, alleging that he forced himself upon her against her will and took her mobile phone and Rs 60,000 from her. When the woman became pregnant, he administered a tablet to induce an abortion. After that, they resumed their physical relationship, resulting in another pregnancy.

When the woman asked him about their future together and marriage, he allegedly hit her in the stomach and threatened to kill himself if she reported the incidents to the police.

The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rape and causing miscarriage without a woman’s consent. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
