Pune: Document Registration Work Hampered Due To Server, Electricity Issues, People Suffer
Pune, 28th March 2022: At the end of March, due to various reasons such as arrears of electricity bill, technical problems in the server, for the third week in a row, the registration of documents in Pune is being hampered. Citizens and lawyers who came for the document registration had to suffer unnecessarily due to obstruction in document registration again on Monday (March 28).
Two weeks ago, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) had cut off the power supply to the Pune City and District Rural Stamp Collector’s Office in the Government Printing Press premises. As a result, the offices of the Sub Registrar 10, 11 and 23 in the same building were closed till evening.
Even on March 24, document registration was deferred due to the server being down. Also, due to a large number of registrations on Monday (March 28) due to the end of March, there has been a technical glitch in the server, which has hampered document registration. As a result, lawyers and members of the parties who came to the sub registrar’s office for other work including document registration had to face undue hardship.
Meanwhile, the current market price (Ready Reckoner) will be announced on April 1. Also, a 1% metro surcharge will be levied on property purchase and sale transactions in areas where Metro works are in progress, namely Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Nagpur Municipal Corporation areas.
Citizens are also flocking to the sub registrar’s office for document registration as ready reckoner rates are likely to go up. However, due to obstacles in the registration, lawyers and members of parties have to spend a whole day on this work.
