Pune: Domestic Violence Turns Deadly in Wakad: Husband Apprehended in Wife’s Torturous Death
Wakad, 20th February 2024: The Wakad police have apprehended the husband responsible for the death of his wife, resulting from severe torture. This incident transpired over the period between 2016 and February 18, 2024, in Thergaon. The authorities have taken swift action in making the arrest.
The arrested individual has been identified as Lakhan Parameshwar Jhundere, a 36-year-old resident of Thergaon. The complaint in this matter was lodged by Mayur Sanjay Katle, a 27-year-old resident of Ahmednagar, at the Wakad police station.
Punekar News had initially reported on the suspicious death of a woman in Thergaon, prompting an inquiry by the Wakad police. The victim, Megha Jhundere, aged 31, had been admitted for treatment of a skin disease and passed away during her medical care. The police have taken action and arrested the husband in connection with the case.
According to the police, the accused subjected the 31-year-old sister of the complainant to both physical and mental torture, causing injuries to her thigh. The complainant’s sister succumbed to an infection in the inflicted wound. The Wakad Police have arrested the accused, and further investigations are underway.
