Pune: Dr. Prabha Atre Foundation Invites Entries for Music Research and Literature Awards 2025
Pune, 5th November 2025: The Dr. Prabha Atre Foundation has announced two prestigious awards — the Swarayogini Dr. Prabha Atre Sangeet-Shodh Puraskar (Music Research Award) for meritorious students, artists, educationists, and researchers, and the Swarayogini Dr. Prabha Atre Sangeet-Sahitya Puraskar (Music Literature Award) for writers.
Padma Vibhushan Swarayogini Dr. Prabha Atre, the internationally acclaimed vocalist of the Kirana Gharana, is widely respected as a visionary thinker, scholar, author, composer (Vaggeyakar), researcher, and reformer in Indian classical music. To commemorate her extraordinary contributions and encourage excellence in research and documentation in music and literature, the Foundation will honour outstanding individuals through these awards.
Eligibility and Guidelines
Swarayogini Dr. Prabha Atre Sangeet-Shodh Puraskar (Music Research Award):
• Submissions must be research dissertations approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and formally recognised by a university between January 2023 and December 2025.
• Applicants must submit a soft copy of the dissertation, a copy of the university’s acceptance certificate, and qualification and degree certificates.
Swarayogini Dr. Prabha Atre Sangeet-Sahitya Puraskar (Music Literature Award):
• Submissions must be books whose first or revised edition was published between January 2023 and December 2025.
• The writing must be theoretical, analytical, or critical in nature. Compilations of compositions, biographies, or autobiographies will not be considered.
• Works in Marathi, Hindi, and English will be accepted for this award.
