Pune: Empress Garden Gears Up For Spectacular Flower Show

Camp, 23rd January 2024: The much-anticipated Empress Garden Flower Show, eagerly awaited by Punekars each year, is set to enthrall visitors with an array of roses, marigolds, flock asters, geraveras, shevantis, nishigandhas, and more. The four-day ‘Flower Exhibition 2024’ is scheduled to take place in the Botanical Garden from January 25 to 28, with preparations reaching their final stages, according to Suresh Pingle, Honorary Secretary of Empress Botanical Garden.

 

The flower exhibition will be open from 9 am to 7:30 pm, featuring a cultural program in the evening within the event premises. The exhibition will primarily showcase seasonal and exotic flowers, along with displays of potted plants, bonsai, hanging potted plants, shade trees, and supported vines. Flowers sourced from various regions have been carefully tended to and are ready to grace the event.

 

In addition to the floral displays, the exhibition will host stalls presenting different types of fertilizers, flower decorations, floral rangoli, dry leaves, leaf designs, and attractive pot decorations. Selfie points, fountains, toys for children, food stalls, and more will also be part of the vibrant setup. Suresh Pingle, Honorary Secretary of Empress Botanical Garden, has extended an invitation to Nashik residents to visit and relish the exhibition.

 

Empress Botanical Garden Painting Competition Draws Enthusiastic Participation

 

Empress Botanical Garden recently organized a painting and handwriting competition for children, witnessing an overwhelming response with around 850 to 900 participants. The event took place on January 21, 2024, attracting children from various schools in Pune city.

 

The competition, an annual tradition organized by Empress Botanical Garden, featured free entry for participants. Children in the 5-10 years age group were tasked with portraying “My Favorite Toy” and “Balloon Man under the Night Sky,” while those in the 11-15 years age group showcased their artistic talents with themes like “Save Water,” “Sports Day,” and “Jungle.”

 

Present at the event were Suresh Pingle, Honorary Secretary of Empress Botanical Garden, Anupama Barve, Honorary Joint Secretary, and Yashwant Khaire, Honorary Secretary. Supervising the proceedings were Ragini Kakkar and Nivedita Wadekar of Empress Garden Mitra Parivar. The winners of the competition will be announced at the conclusion of the flower exhibition on January 28.
