Pune: Engineer Duped For Rs 2.70 Lakh On Pretext Of Discount In Flight Ticket To Canada
Pune 25th August 2023: A 34-year-old engineer from Tathawade has lodged a complaint with Pimpri Chinchwad Police against a person for allegedly duping him on pretext of giving him discount on the flight ticket to Canada. The police have booked a person identified as Lavish Jain in the matter.
According to the complaint registered with Police, the accused assured of giving 40% discount in the Air India Ticket to Canada to the complainant by claiming that he has good contacts in the airline and he gets a special discount for booking the tickets. The complaint trusted the accused and paid Rs 2,70,000 to book the ticket.
However, the accused later did not give him a flight ticker or refund his money. He later stopped responding to his calls following which the complainant reached out to police to lodge a case in the matter. A case in this regard has been registered at Hinjewadi Police Station under sections 420 and 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
